What Are Implant-Supported Dentures?
When you smile, implant-supported dentures will look like any other dentures. But underneath, they are attached—either permanently or removably—to four or more implants placed in the jaw.
The process starts with placement of these implants—slender titanium posts—in the areas of strongest and firmest bone. We work with the finest oral surgeons in our area for placement of these implants. The implants are allowed to heal, during which time the patient can wear temporary dentures.
When the bone has healed well, we then create dentures that attach to the implants. We consult the patient on the kind of smile they would like to have and provide dentures that enhance and complement their appearance.
This method works well both for complete dentures and partial dentures.
Then the day comes when we attach the dentures to the implant. Our patient finally has secure dentures that won’t shift or come out, a beautiful smile and no more dietary restrictions.
