Botox and Juvéderm at Beachside Family Dentistry
Some of our patients are surprised to learn that we offer BOTOX and JUVEDERM injections. As a general dentist, it makes complete sense that dentists would do Botox and Juvéderm on the face because the face is where we work all day, every day! We learn a lot about the anatomy of the face, all the nerves, and all the blood vessels. If anyone's good with a needle, we are because we work with them in the face all day, every day.
Is Botox or Juvéderm right for you?
We can do a complimentary consultation to find out. With Botox, we can make your lips look a bit better—not as much as Juvéderm, but better. We can eliminate fine lines and the lines around the face, the forehead, and what people call the 11s. My 11s are strong, and the little jowl area. With Juvéderm, we can fill in the nasolabial folds and the marionette lines. We can pull the lips up a little bit, and there are other things too. Beyond Cosmetics with Botox
We can also use Botox to help patients who are experiencing pain in this facial muscle. Clenching is really hard on this muscle. Some patients wake up in pain or with a very tired jaw because they've been clenching and holding that down all night. We can inject Botox into this muscle, called the masseter muscle, to weaken it a little so that we're not clenching quite so hard.
My patients who have had it done feel the difference, love it, and can't wait for our next Botox day to get it refreshed. We do have to administer Botox multiple times. It lasts about three months, and once it's gone, it's gone. There are no permanent side effects to Botox except for flatter, less wrinkled skin. After three months, you get it redone.
